I really like the fact that there are reviews available by real people. Comments from people who have actually been to a particuar place, or stayed in a particular hotel have come in REALLY handy for my vacation planning. Books are ok, but sometimes out of date. .... The guidebooks provide a lot of information on tourist sites, transportation, food, etc. but they can't tell you if you will like these types of places. That is where sites like TripAdvisor.com come in. ...
